Uplifting Te Ao Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches to Arotake Tūraru

I am an MSc student exploring Te Ao Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches to Arotake Tūraru – Risk Assessment. Specifically, I am working in the theoretical space to bring Te Ao Māori notions of Tūraru into the field of Arotake Tūraru. I seek to empower Tāngata and help normalise Te Ao Māori within our changing world.

My rangahau journey began at Te Herenga Waka, where completed my BSc in Environmental Science and Physical Geography. This empowered and drove me to undertake further study.

I proudly Whakapapa to Te Ātiawa o Te Waka a Maui. This Whakapapa drives my Kaupapa where I approach Science through a Te Ao Māori lens and Kaupapa Māori approach. With this approach I strive to decolonise the science space and bring the ways of being, views, and values of Tāngata Whenua and Mana Whenua to forefront.
