I am a social scientist deeply passionate about climate change adaptation and risk management. My research focuses on enhancing community resilience to natural hazards through close collaboration with local communities to develop practical, locally sourced solutions. Recently, I completed a PhD where I utilized qualitative methodologies to examine the impacts of wildfires in the Arctic and investigate the political and social factors influencing community adaptation efforts in the region.

Here at the University of Canterbury, I will be joining the Climate Risk team to identify risk management solutions that prevent maladaptation at the community level. My role specifically involves applying the team’s research findings and fostering their adoption by community stakeholders
